The wooden mosaic picture is crafted from 1/4" wood cubes using 10 different types of wood including: pine, white oak, maple, reclaimed oak, zebra wood, jubillo, walnut, mora, bolivian rosewood & wenge

to get this unique effect your chosen photo will be converted to sepia tones and then pixelated.  this is what determines the required size of the mosaic picture.  once the photo has been processed and options are arranged with you, the pricing is based on the total square footage and color tones of each individual picture.  prices range from $1000 (lighter photos) to $1200 (darker photos) a square foot.   The darker colors in the pictures require more exotic woods, which create a higher price range.  in one square foot there is a total of 2304 wooden cubes.

each custom mosaic picture goes through 5 different processes during construction. 1st step is selecting your picture & processing it to pixelated form & sizing. 2nd step consists of cutting down all of the wood to 1/4" cubes.  3rd the picture gets pieced together one row at a time (most time consuming step). 4th the cubes are glued onto a backing and a log live edge frame is attached.  the final procedure is the finish, all mosaics are coated with 2 coats of flat acrylic polyurethane. by using this finish it allows the individual color of each piece to maintain its natural color, no yellowing.
